I made a mermaid themed bottle a few months back with clear water beads in a blue water and glycerine mix with mica. After a few days the beads started to shrink then a few weeks later the whole thing exploded! Glass, blue liquid and beads everywhere! Thankfully no one was in the room. I don't understand what happened. I've seen a few people using water beads and no one has mentioned having this happen, any idea what I did wrong please?

Are you using battery operated lights?

Guys, don't fret if you don't have distilled water, just take tap water, boil it and let it cool

This is another one of my absolute favorite potion bottles you have made. I love the whole look of it especially the label you made and the added finial on top. The spinner is so cool. I haven't made this one yet but I definitely plan on it. You have such great ideas and are so talented not only with the potions you make but the labels are all so beautiful. Might I request a tutorial on mica colors? Not all have the swirly property. It would be awesome to show a line of small bottles with a clue as to food drops used and mica powder used. I did order the powders you suggested and they work much better but my food drops and powder are not coming out quite right. I'm thinking fluorescent powders and whick florescent do you recommend. I am going to buy your book hoping some questions might be answered within . I wish you would teach classes. I'd be up for that Again your works unparalleled. Looks awesome! I got a different type of crimper, kind of looks like pliers, and it sucks lol. It doesn't crimp the metal underneath the lip of the vial like this, looks super cheap, I'm going to have to buy this crimper and redo them. I have to ask, how did you get such small labels to look so crisp? If I print too small a label, things seem to start to melt together or become unreadable. I spent a long time creating my labels based off FF7 and had to remove most of the detail because you couldn't read anything. One last question if you could answer, how does transfer tape work? Do you print onto it like sticker paper?

I did this. But I found it less wasteful to just lay down a longer piece of foil so you don't have all that on the sides.

Will water beads work with rubbing alcohol? I’ve always used my water beads only in water, but my potions in alcohol. Just wondering if anyone has tried yet?

What about an old whiskey bottle with a cap? Would that be safe you think? We decorate the bar behind the gas stove for Halloween, and we have a smoker in the house. I tried water and highlighters in the bottle before but it got nasty, so I wanted to try again.

⚠TLDR⚠ Your potion bottle ideas spark inspiration! Your video confirmed what I had in mind is on the right track. The supplies I purchased before this video are Dollar Store glitter packs, Styling Gel, and Jut rope/cord. I got my small corked bottles from Michaels at $2.99 each. I had not purchased the coloring yet! I was not sure what would work with the alcohol in hair gel. I had a feeling that the alcohol would strip the color off glitter. So, I thought I would need to use some sort of alcohol base colors. I'm so happy that I can use food coloring and/or acrylic paint and the potion will not be ruined! Ooh-wee! I am soo excited. I want to suspend items in my potions like snips and snails and puppy dog tails! I feel like the more viscus the potion, the less likely the mica powder, glitter, or items will settle. I might move away from using clear hair gel (cause it's so cheap) and use the clear name brand school glue to avoid air bubbles. What I want to replicate most of all is the "Zombie Brain Shot" in a potion bottle. It's a real adult beverage and is supposedly tasty (I don't drink). I don't know if I can replicate the effects without the mediums mixing/dissolving. I like the way the drink jiggles and looks fleshy, very Halloween.

I noticed you added just a few drops of the paint. If one adds too much will you get no swirls.? Is minimal better?

Absolutely love your videos and your potion bottles. I have looked at gosh so many of them. Each is unique and it shows your great massive amount of talent. I tried using some of your techniques and did not have the success you have I wish I knew what I did wrong and went and got the mica powder from Michael's which was in a kit I'll put a link maybe to show you what I got maybe I got the wrong stuff but I had absolutely no shimmery swirly qualities in mine. I tried using the food colors and to do the mixes still nothing no go I don't know if it was the mica powder or me I just don't know any suggestions I can go ahead and order the micah powders that you link because those were absolutely beautiful and they look a lot different from the ones I got. Thanks for any helpful tips. It was recollections mica powder haad 6 colors. I used an entire bottle and nothing swirled . I started small bits went to mor. Got nothing. It settles to the bottom and I shake
